Meet Kriston Hill
Passionate. Driven. Fair.
Kriston Hill is the conservative choice for Elko Department 1 Judge.
Kriston Hill was born and raised in Elko County. A daughter to a single mother, Kriston always took great pride in her schoolwork active in 4-H, FFA, and Honor Society. Before she graduated high school, she knew that law was her passion and decided to pursue her law degree so she could best serve her country. Her passion and dedication continued at University Nevada, Reno where she majored in Political Science, became President of the UNR College Republicans, and instrumental in starting a conservative newspaper for the school.
Since becoming a lawyer, Kriston Hill has zealously served the underprivileged with dedication and compassion. In 2015, Hill became one of the youngest women public defenders in the United States when the Elko County Commissioners appointed her to lead the Elko County Public Defenders’ Office. At the Elko County Public Defenders’ Office, Hill ensures that the Constitutional rights of those accused of crimes are protected. She was instrumental in expanding the protections provided to those accused of crimes by providing attorneys to be present at all stages of the court process — at no additional cost to taxpayers. She has been honored on three separate occasions by Nevada Legal Services for providing free legal services serving the underprivileged. She has taught youth interested in careers in law enforcement at the Future Law Enforcement Academy Training.
Kriston met her husband James Hill Jr. (Jim) in September 2010 and married in September 2012. Together they reside in Pleasant Valley with their beautiful daughter Jillian. They have three dogs and a small flock of sheep. Kriston spends much of her free time hiking, backpacking, running, swimming, and hunting.
With your help, we can continue to move Elko County in the right direction by providing fair and efficient Court proceedings for the citizens of Elko.
